हाईकोर्ट के आदेश पर डीएम डॉ. आर राजेश कुमार ने राजभवन, मुख्यमंत्री आवास को जाने वाली न्यू कैंट रोड पर धरना प्रदर्शन, चक्काजाम को प्रतिबंधित कर दिया है। जारी आदेश में कहा गया कि धरना प्रदर्शन, चक्काजाम करने वाले प्रदर्शनकारियों के खिलाफ धारा-144 के तहत कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
डीएम ने कहा कि राजनीतिक दलों, सामाजिक व कर्मचारी संगठन धरना प्रदर्शन अधोईवाला में नगर निगम की जमीन पर ही किया जा सकेगा। देहरादून के दमनदीप सिंह बेदी ने हाईकोर्ट में जनहित याचिका दाखिल कर बताया था कि आए दिन कई राजनीतिक दलों, कर्मचारी संगठनों की ओर से न्यू कैंट रोड पर धरना प्रदर्शन करने के साथ ही राजभवन व मुख्यमंत्री आवास कूच किया जाता है। प्रदर्शनकारियों को रोकने के लिए पुलिस प्रशासन की ओर से हाथीबड़कला में बैरिकेडिंग लगाई जाती है, जिससे लोगों को परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ता है।
बेदी ने कोर्ट को बताया कि न्यू कैंट रोड पर बड़ी संख्या में शैक्षणिक संस्थाओं के अलावा व्यापारिक प्रतिष्ठान, ग्रुप हाउसिंग स्कीम, कई बैंक, पासपोर्ट कार्यालय और हजारों की संख्या में दुकानें हैं, लेकिन धरना-प्रदर्शन और मुख्यमंत्री, राजभवन आवास कूच करने को लेकर प्रशासन की ओर से लगाई जाने वाली बैरिकेडिंग से लोगों को मुसीबतों का सामना करना पड़ता है। याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए हाईकोर्ट ने डीएम को नियमानुसार कार्रवाई के आदेश दिए। इसके बाद डीएम ने यह कार्रवाई की। डीएम का कहना है कि आदेशों का उल्लंघन करने वालों के खिलाफ पुलिस प्रशासनिक अधिकारी नियमानुसार कार्रवाई सुनिश्चित कराएं।
