मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी से स्वतंत्रता दिवस के अवसर पर देर सायं मुख्यमंत्री आवास में कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स में बेडमिंटन प्रतिस्पर्धा में स्वर्ण पदक विजेता लक्ष्य सेन के पिता डी.के. सेन ने भेंट की। भेंट के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने लक्ष्य सेन को फोन पर स्वर्ण पदक जीतने पर बधाई दी तथा उनके उज्जवल भविष्य की कामना की। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि लक्ष्य ने अपनी खेल प्रतिभा से उत्तराखण्ड का ही नहीं देश का भी नाम रोशन किया है। उन्होंने पिछली बार लक्ष्य से मुलाकात के दौरान उनसे लक्ष्य भेद कर आने को कहा था।
मुख्यमंत्री ने लक्ष्य से कहा कि उन्हें दृढ़ संकल्प लेकर आगे बढ़ना है। आसमान छूना है, झुकना नही है। प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी भी कहते है हमारे खिलाड़ियों को अपना रिकार्ड खुद ही तोड़ना है।
मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि लक्ष्य सेन की इस सफलता के पीछे उनके माता-पिता की तपस्या का भी प्रतिफल है।
