पौड़ी गढ़वाल। देश पर जब-जब संकट आया है, तब-तब वीर सैनिकों ने अपने प्राणों की परवाह किये अदम्य साहस का परिचय देते हुए दुश्मनों को धूल चटाई है। देश को ऐसे वीर सैनिकों पर नाज है। ऐसे वीर सैनिकों को देश की जनता याद करती रहेगी।
ऐसे हो एक वीर जवान की याद में लगने वाले मेले को उत्तराखंड सरकार ने राजकीय मेला घोषित किया है। आपको याद दिला दें कि महावीर चक्र विजेता, महान पराक्रमी शहीद जसवंत सिंह रावत उत्तराखण्ड ही नहीं बल्कि पूरे देश के गौरव हैं।
बता दें कि 1962 के युद्ध में अकेले 300 चीनी सैनिकों को मौत के घाट उतार महान पराक्रम का परिचय दिया था। अमर शहीद जसवंत सिंह रावत की पुण्य स्मृति में मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेंद्र सिंह रावत ने दो घोषणाएं की थी। इसमें एक घोषणा बीरोंखाल में आयोजित होने वाले महावीर चक्र विजेता जसवंत सिंह रावत शहीद मेले को राजकीय मेला घोषित कर दिया गया है।
दूसरी घोषणा उनके जन्मस्थान पैतृक गांव बांडयू, विकासखण्ड बीरोंखाल में भव्य शहीद स्मारक व खेल मैदान के निर्माण की भी स्वीकृति दे दी गई है। दोनों घोषणाओं का शासनादेश जारी कर दिया गया है। डीपीआर तैयार होते ही जल्द ही स्वीकृत कार्यों का काम शुरू होने की उम्मीद है।
