देहरादून। उत्तराखंड में संचालित हो रही 108 इमरजेंसी सेवा की अहमियत को त्रिवेंद्र सरकार बखूबी समझ रही है। यही वजह रही कि 108 सेवा के बेड़े को विस्तार देने में राज्य सरकार ने देर नहीं लगाई। 108 सेवा के बेड़े में 132 नई एंबुलेंस शामिल करने पर राज्य कैबिनेट की मुहर इसी ओर इशारा कर रही है।

पर्वतीय राज्य उत्तराखंड में दशक भर पहले 108 इमरजेंसी सेवा का सफर शुरू हुआ था। अपनी शुरूआत से ही इस सेवा ने आम उत्तराखंडी के दिलोंदिमाग पर गहरी छाप छोड़ी है। खासतौर से पर्वतीय जिलों के लिए यह सेवा किसी वरदान से कम साबित नहीं हुई।

बीते वर्षों में 108 इमरजेंसी सेवा की एंबुलेंसों में हजारों नौनिहालों की किलकारियां गूंजी तो हजारों-लाखों घायलों को अस्पतालों तक उपचार के लिए पहुंचाया गया। यहां तक की पहाड़ के दूरस्थ गांवों में अगर कोई गंभीर बीमार हो जाता तो उसे बस यही इंतजार रहता कि किसी तरह रोड हेड तक 108 पहुंच जाए। इसके बाद मरीजों को आसानी से नजदीकी अस्पतालों में भर्ती कराया जाता रहा।

अब यह कहना कतई अतिश्योक्ति नहीं होगा कि स्वास्थ्य सुविधाओं के अभाव से जूझते राज्य को इस सेवा ने हमेशा सहारा देने का काम किया है। यही कारण भी है कि त्रिवेंद्र सरकार शुरू दिन से इस सेवा के सुदढ़िकरण के लिए तत्पर रही है।

राज्य सरकार ने अब 108 सेवा को और मजबूती प्रदान करते हुए इसके बेड़े में 132 नए वाहनों को जोड़ने के प्रस्ताव को मंजूरी दे दी है। जानकारों का कहना है कि निश्चित तौर से सरकार का यह निर्णय सराहनीय है। दरअसल, यह एक ऐसी इमरजेंसी सेवा है जिसके लिए कई बार जिलों में एबुलेंस कम पड़ जाती हैं।

ऐसे में इसके बेड़े में वाहनों का इजाफा कर सरकार ने इसे मजबूती प्रदान करने का कार्य किया है। अधिक से अधिक वाहन होने का लाभ यह मिलेगा कि जिन इलाकों में अभी तक इस सेवा के वाहनों को लंबी दूरी तय करके पहुंचना पड़ता था, अब नए वाहन मिलने से इमरजेंसी प्वाइंट तक पहुंचने में आसानी होगी।
