जानकारी के अनुसार प्रसव पीड़ा होने पर एक महिला को बीते रोज सामुदायिक स्वास्थ्य केंद्र पुरोला में भर्ती कराया गया था। महिला की ब्लीडिंग न रुकने पर उसे देहरादून के लिए रैफर किया। लेकिन असहनीय प्रसव पीड़ा से तड़पती 25 वर्षीय महिला ने रास्ते में ही दम तोड़ दिया। यह केवल एक माँ ही जिंदगी की जंग नहीं हारी है, उसके साथ कई रिश्ते भी हमेशा के लिए मर गए हैं।

आखिर प्रसव पीड़ा से महिलाएं कब तक शहादत देती रहेंगी, यह बड़ा प्रश्न है। क्षेत्रीय लोगों का गुस्सा यह है कि रवांई क्षेत्र के 200 किलोमीटर की परिधि में एक भी महिला चिकित्सक नहीं है। राज्य बनने के 20 साल बाद भी क्षेत्रीय जनप्रतिनिधि अस्पतालों में चिकिसकों की तैनाती नहीं हो पाई है। जबकि हर चुनाव में यह मुख्य मुद्दा रहता है।

पहाड़ के अस्पताल सुविधाओं के अभाव में महज रैफरल सेंटर बने हुए हैं। यदि सरकार में थोड़ा सी भी गैरत बची है तो कम से कम पहाड़ों में इस तरह प्रसव पीड़ा से बेमौत मर रही जिंदगियों को तो बचाया ही जा सकता है।
