– यूकॉस्ट द्वारा विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस-2021 का आयोजन 

देहरादून। विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस-2021 के अवसर पर “रीइमेजिन, रीक्रिएट, रीस्टोर“ पर यूकॉस्ट और नासी उत्तराखंड चैप्टर द्वारा वर्चुअल मोड के माध्यम से 5 जून को मनाया गया। डॉ. समीर सिन्हा, आईएफएस, अतिरिक्त पीसीसीएफ, उत्तराखंड सरकार इस कार्यक्रम के मुख्य वक्ता थे।

कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत एक वीडियो के साथ हुई, जो स्वर्गीय पद्मविभूषण सुंदरलाल बहुगुणा की कविता पर आधारित थी, जिसे उपेंद्र अरोड़ा और स्नेहा अरोड़ा ने गाया। डॉ. राजेंद्र डोभाल, एफएनएएससी, महानिदेशक, यूकॉस्ट ने मुख्य अतिथि और अन्य गणमान्य व्यक्तियों के साथ प्रतिभागियों का स्वागत किया।

इस अवसर पर डॉ. डोभाल ने प्राकृतिक संसाधनों पर जनसंख्या प्रेरित दबाव के बारे में बात की। हालांकि उन्होंने आशा व्यक्त की है कि विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के विवेकपूर्ण अनुप्रयोगों में इसे कम करने की शक्ति है। चाइल्ड पालिसी के विषय पर उन्होंने कहा कि हमें देश के आर्थिक विकास के लिए युवा शक्ति की जरूरत है।

पद्मश्री प्रो. ए.एन. पुरोहित ने “पर्यावरण के साथ वातावरण“ के महत्व के बारे में बात की। उन्होंने कहा कि पर्यावरण कोई संसाधन नहीं है, बल्कि समय और स्थान के संबंध में धारणाओं और विचारों का एक ढांचा है। यह विकास का एक अंतर्निहित घटक है। उन्होंने युवा पीढ़ी के लिए पारिस्थितिकी के परिप्रेक्ष्य में कौशल विकास पर जोर दिया।

कार्यक्रमम के मुख्य वक्ता समीर सिन्हा ने “पृथ्वी का पोषण : पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के क्षरण को रोकने, तथा उलटने का आह्वान“ विषय पर व्याख्यान दिया। उन्होंने पारिस्थितिक बहाली, चिपको आंदोलन, पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र क्षरण, रीस्टोरेशन कल्चर और अर्थ ओवरशूट दिवस के साथ अन्य सम्बंधित मुद्दों पर ध्यान केंद्रित किया।

अर्थ ओवरशूट दिवस उस तारीख को चिह्नित करता है जब मानव वर्ष के लिए  प्रकृति के बजट को समाप्त कर देते हैं, जिसका अर्थ है कि उसके बाद प्रत्येक नए दिन अपने विकास सम्बन्धी कार्यों से हम प्रकृति को नुकसान पहुंचाना शुरू कर देते हैं। पिछले साल, यह 22 अगस्त को था।

तराई बेल्ट में लैंटाना घास के उन्मूलन और दायरा अल्पाइन की पारिस्थितिकी बहाली के अपने काम का हवाला देते हुए उन्होंने सुंदर लाल बहुगुणा के उद्धरण, “पारिस्थितिकी हमारी स्थायी अर्थव्यवस्था है“ के महत्व पर प्रकाश डाला।

उन्होंने कहा कि हमें पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र की बहाली के लिए वैज्ञानिक दृष्टिकोण अपनाना चाहिए, जिसके लिए जन-जागरूकता, क्षमता संवर्धन, मूल्य आधारित व्यवहार परिवर्तन, रीस्टोरेशन कल्चर के लिए राजनीतिक इच्छाशक्ति बढ़ाने तथा क्रॉस-गवर्नमेंटल एवं क्रॉस-सेक्टोरल संवादों को प्रोत्साहित करने पर लगातार काम करने की जरूरत है।

डॉ. डी.पी. उनियाल, संयुक्त निदेशक, यूकॉस्ट ने कार्यक्रम का समन्वय किया। जबकि डॉ.अपर्णा शर्मा, वरिष्ठ वैज्ञानिक अधिकारी, यूकॉस्ट ने मुख्य वक्ता समेत सभी प्रतिभागियों को धन्यवाद ज्ञापित किया।

जी.एस.रौतेला, प्रो. डी.के. माहेश्वरी, डॉ बृजमोहन शर्मा, डॉ जी.के. ढींगरा के अलावा लगभग सौ से अधिक प्रतिभागियों ने जूम मीटिंग और यूकॉस्ट के फेसबुक लाइव के जरिए कार्यक्रम में प्रतिभाग किया।
